My Wife and Kids stars Damon Wayans as Michael Kyle, a loving husband and modern-day patriarch who rules his household with a unique and distinct parenting style. When wife Janet (Tisha Campbell-Martin) becomes a stock market trailblazer, his life as he knows it changes forever. His only son Jr. (George O. Gore II) idolizes gangster rap stars instead of him. His moody, adolescent daughter Claire (Jennifer Nicole Freeman) addresses him only when she wants something. And his youngest daughter Kady (Parker McKenna Posey) rarely lets her Daddy have the last word. As he teaches his three children some of life's lessons, he does so with his own brand of wisdom, discipline and humor. With Wayans at the helm, this is no ordinary family comedy.

The show's five-year primetime run has seen the family through a host of themes tackling issues such as substance abuse and teenage pregnancy in a tactful and spirited manner that only Wayans and his phenomenal castmates can supply. In fact, the show was recognized with a 2002 Prism Award for the episode entitled "Grassy Knoll" which dealt with drug and substance abuse issues.

Boasting five years' primetime success, the hilarious family-style sitcom earned several NAACP Image Awards, and received the 2002 People's Choice Award for Favorite New Television Comedy Series.

Damon Wayans and Don Reo are co-creators and executive producers. Dean Lorey is executive producer of the half-hour comedy series. A Touchstone Television production, the series premiered in primetime on March 28, 2001.
